天国と地獄、Albed0.39に続くVANGELISの最高傑作3部作の掉尾を飾る名作。地中海音楽のﾃｲｽﾄでどこまでも外に広がってゆくVAMGELISの真骨頂・美質が堪能できます。圧倒的な支持を受ける名曲「見知らぬ人へ」のｼﾝｸﾞﾙのみに収録された（当然日本未発売）のＰａｒｔ2がﾎﾞｰﾅｽトラックとして収録されていると聞いては、初発ＬＰ→日本版ＣＤ→紙ジャケット化→と買い続けてきたのですが、またしても買わざるを得ないことになりました。今はすっかり「芸術家」になってしまい、音楽家としての旬は終わった感じが有りますが、70年代中期の作品群の素晴らしさ、計算された無手勝流の凄さ、また、じっくり聞き直しましょう。

In my opinion, this album is a classical Vangelis’ album. All tracks are pleasant. The track ”Spiral” reminds us the sound of a spiral movemnent; ”Ballad” reminds us of a ballad sound; ”To The Unknown Man” reminds us of distant unknown somewhere which we are searching for. ”3+3” - this track was used to appearing on many Brazilian TV Programs ＆ Radio Stations, mainly for reminding us of a mystical something. Cool! ”Dervish D” - I simply liked the sound of this track.

�Cは、『炎のランナー』と並んでヴァンゲリスの十八番（おハコ）の感動的メロディー、いま流に言うなら“感メロ”？ともあれ、買って損は無い作品だろう、ヴァンゲリスは大外れしないアーティストだもの。

アナログディスク時代から集めてCDになりやがては、音質が良くなり「紙ジャケ」へ・・・。 この「Spiral」で一番好きなのが「見知らぬ男」である。繰り返されるメロディに始まりやがては壮大なメロディへと変化する。２４Bit高音質の「見知らぬ男」が今から楽しみだ。
